Good Saturday Morning
Good morning friends and happy Saturday. It's a warm start to the day but we do have some rain chances creeping up over the next few days. What is everyone doing today ? I am going to take a short walk with the pup then have coffee and read the paper and maybe run a few errands before it gets too hot. I hope everyone has a great day!

Good morning! I plan to cook an old fashion vegetable meal today. Right now I'm thinking black eyed peas w/cornbread, steamed squash, honey roasted carrots, sliced tomatoes, and cantalope. That will be my major task for the day. I hope to have leftovers for lunch tomorrow. Hope everyone has a great Saturday!

@Bloom : It's only in the last couple years that PBS has quit broadcasting reruns of Lawrence Welk. One of the funniest Welk moments was this duet:

Apparently, Lawrence thought "Sweet Jesus" made it a religious song. He kinda missed the point.

@Weathergirl5 , we tried to pedal through the 'hood this morning but a) it was too hot and b) dw's bike developed a slow leak in the back tire. I had to pump it up twice so she could make it back home without pushing the bike.

@Bloom : Parts of mine do too and the pool....eek! Too low to turn on the pump without adding water so it has stayed off for 2 days. I can't go much longer doing that though or it it will need a pallet of shock to get it sanitary again. Bring the rain!!

Blackjack Oaks are dying in my neck of the woods and went down the other night. Today was cut and move day and tomorrow will be burn day.

@Weathergirl5 : We enjoyed it! I made a point of cooking enough to have leftovers today. I recently discovered the Sugar Rush cantaloupes, and that plus the fact that tomatoes on the vine were on sale, inspired a veggie meal.

No burn day today, our rain did not happen but I finished cutting and moving the rest of the tree. Perhaps next weekend will be burn time if we get some rain.
