Charlie Kirk was assassinated, but I'm not going to pretend he's a saint. I feel bad for his kids, but his organization profited off of political polarization Here's some quotes by Charlie Kirk
From his Twitter:
"Islam in not compatible with Western Civilization" When Taylor Swift got married:
"Reject feminism. submit to your husband, Taylor (Swift). You're not in charge."
Also from his Twitter
"Happening all the time in urban America, prowling Blacks go around for fun to go target white people, that's a fact. It's happening more and more." When asked whether he would support an abortion for his 10 year old daughter if she was RAPED :
"The answer is yes, the baby would be delivered." Lastly, and most importantly :
"I think it's worth it to have a cost of, unfortunately, some gun deaths every single year so that we can have the second amendment rights. " POLITICAL POLARIZATION is causing this. Charlie Kirk was at the forefront, spreading hateful rhetoric that insulted anyone who wasn't a white Christian. Yes, he had a wife and kids. The world isn't a clearcut black and white. I am sad that his kids lost their father, but Kirk was not a saint. I feel bad for hi

Everyone in the USA is entitled to our opinions, even you.. Whether we agree or not. There is never a reason to kill the opponent if all that is being done is an exchange of words and opinions. Nobody that would have a conversation, question, or disagreement were ever in immediate danger on His behalf. They all walked away healthy and alive.

He didn't deserve that, no one does. But at the same time he also should not be treated like a martyr.

"Immediate danger" is a narrow standard. But language that dehumanizes or demonizes opponents, or frames them as threats, contributes to future harm even if not in that precise moment. So while a given exchange of words might not constitute immediate danger, it has proven to result in cumulative risk of harm to the people that he deems unworthy of living in his america.

It's not that he was a role model. It's that he deserved a right to live and learn from his mistakes.

He was a role model to many. He wasn't an awful person. Once again, his assassination brings out the truth in many. Why do so many, present company here, get a joy in posting a half statement, or a statement out of context, like that defines someone? Someone who has spoken more words than probably most of us combined. I just ask you reflect on yourself, your actions, and your words. Be a better person

Since free speech is the topic, it bears mentioning that Jimmy Kimmel has been pulled off the air indefinitely for remarks about the Kirk assassination. His remarks were opinionated, but not bad, certainly not warranting removal from the air. We should change the lyrics of the national anthem to "...and the home of the gagged." What is happening to this country? I don't recognize it anymore.
