@Bloom : I am making changes to the pattern now and will probably make a second muslin before I buy fabric. I had hoped to have all of this ironed out before tomorrow so that I could buy fabric when we go out for groceries. We will see! 😁

@Sweetie : It's coming together. It's testing the limits of my abilities, so I'm not sure how talented I am. 🙃 DD is happy thus far, so that is the true litmus test.

@botanylover : I wondered, but didn't want to ask. I've heard so many who can sew say that it's not cheaper - that you can probably purchase ready made for less, especially if you catch a sale. But the dress you make for her will be special, made with love. She can treasure it and maybe re-purpose it someday in a sentimental way. Don't focus on the $, just the love in every stitch.

@Bloom : I agree. Part of the problem is that she cannot find what she wants in any of the shops. We looked all through The Woodlands mall and didn't find anything that was modest enough for her. It was crazy! I am glad that I can make some thing that she will enjoy and be happy to wear.

@Bloom : Yes, it is. I had my eye open for a mother of the bride dress as well while we were going through the mall. I found one, but it was $200. Looks like I'm making mine as well! 🙃
