Dramatic police pursuit ends in crash after suspect's reckless driving
Filiberto Martinez Jr, 18, of New Caney was arrested for Felony Evading.
A Roman Forest officer was in route to an assault in progress call in Roman Forest when the suspect left the location after assaulting the resident. The officer located the suspect’s vehicle and initiated a traffic stop at the Roman Forest park. The suspect vehicle came to a stop and the officer made contact with the driver of the vehicle. While making contact with the vehicle, the suspect took off in the vehicle.
While the officer was trying to catch up with the vehicle, the suspect drove counterflow traffic on Roman Forest Boulevard and then turned left on Aragoste Pkwy. By the time the officer caught up to the actor, he had already crashed into two fences and two homes. The suspect had gone through the open gate at the dead end of Aragoste Pkwy onto a gravel private road and lost control going through a fence into three backyards crashing into two houses. The suspect re-entered the scene and approached an off duty officer who lives in the neighborhood explaining that he needed help because he was injured while RFPD and MCCO4 were searching the area for the suspect. The suspect was transported to the hospital, pending felony charges. No one was injured in the crash other than injuries to the suspect.
