Cbear : I'm more concerned with the temperature in the house. It was flirting with 70 this morning. I may have to break down and switch the thermostat from cooling to heat.

Cbear : Yeah, the heat is on, but the thermostat is set to 72°. If it gets hot inside later today, I'll switch it back to cool. My folks used to do that, living in Green Valley south of Tucson, heat in the morning, cooling in the afternoon.

otto : I would like to not have to use either for a few weeks. Just open or close windows, use fans and occasionally a space heater if needed myself.

Cbear :
How cold was it outside then if it was 49 degrees on the PC. I'm suspecting the PC was inside.

I may turn the heat on this weekend and open some windows just to get the annual dust burn off out of the way when I can air the house out immediately after.

Same here. Windows open and if not, wife has the mini split we had installed in the bedroom at a minimum of 68. Kids are gone so it is just us and we keep the house AC's high and the bedroom split low.
